THE EARLY ROUNDS

At C4C we believe that goal-setting is the key to success and want to empower all of our members to be accountable to themselves and their accountability partner. Therefore prior to the first session our beginning goals workshop will take place followed by a review and new goal setting on week 4 and a final review of goals and achievements on week 8 before the awards ceremony.

The Preliminary Boxing Award teaches stance, guard, torso movement, footwork, straight punches and self-defence. It incorporates technique and partner work, shadow boxing, skipping and boxing drills.

This Certificate can be used to support the following: GCSE, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Prince’s Trust. This certificate has a value of one credit towards ASDAN awards and qualifications.

The Standard Boxing Award teaches combinations, Warm up routines and more complex movements. During the standard Boxing award, you’re assessed on technique and partner work, shadow boxing, punching on the move, rules and general knowledge.

“The Standard Boxing Award is for participants who have successfully completed the Preliminary Award. It teaches the basics of the sport and also gives an insight into physical training needed to become a boxer.”

This Certificate can be used to support the following: GCSE, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Prince’s Trust. This certificate has a value of one credit towards ASDAN awards and qualifications.

The Bronze Boxing Award involves technique and partner work, shadow boxing, bent arm punches, non-contact sparring and incorporates rules and general knowledge.

“The Bronze Boxing Award is for participants that have successfully completed the Standard Award. The course includes shadow boxing, non-contact sparring, basic knowledge of the rules of boxing and plenty of circuit training to get you fit”
