THE LATER ROUNDS

Saturday Boxing Academy (5-10 & 11-16) The C4C Saturday Boxing Academy is a focused group that aims to progress students through the Boxing Awards programmes over a structured period of time (8 weeks per Award). Throughout the programme we will use goal setting and accountability to instil discipline and to encourage the students to plan ahead in order to achieve the best results possible. The groups will be limited to 12 students so that we can guarantee a targeted approach and achieve the best results possible.

To pass the Silver Boxing Award, students must have passed a boxing medical. The Award incorporates more complicated movements, combinations and techniques, requiring higher levels of skill and ability.

‘’The Silver Boxing Award is for all who have successfully completed the Bronze Award. This course includes shadow boxing, condition sparring, basic knowledge of the rules of boxing and plenty of circuit training to get you fit. All candidates must have completed and passed a full boxing medical. Sparring must be conducted in a boxing ring and supervised by a qualified boxing coach.’’

This Certificate can be used to support the following: GCSE, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Prince’s Trust.

The Gold Boxing Award involves warm up, skipping, pad work, bag work, shadow boxing, combination work, condition sparing, circuit training, coaching, warm down, conduct and a short written project.

‘’The Gold Boxing Award is for all who have successfully completed the Silver Award. The programme includes shadow boxing, condition sparring, basic knowledge of the rules of boxing and plenty of circuit training to get you fit. All candidates must have completed and passed a full boxing medical. A qualified boxing coach must be in attendance whilst all sparring is taking place. Sparring is to be conducted in a boxing ring.’’

This Certificate can be used to support the following: GCSE, BTEC, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Prince’s Trust.

The last of the Awards, the Platinum Boxing Award involves a skills bout that tests all of the skills, knowledge and abilities acquired throughout all previous Awards.

‘’The Platinum Boxing Award is for those who have successfully completed all five progressive Awards – from Preliminary to Gold. The programme is more intense and helps to prepare you for your skill bouts. All candidates must have completed and passed a full boxing medical. A qualified boxing coach must be in attendance whilst all sparring is taking place. Sparring is to be conducted in a boxing ring.’’
